Introduced as part of the update to Version 1.11, players have the ability to create and share their own designs to use in-game through the Interior Designer. It is possible to customise Pictures, Rugs, Wall Coverings and Floor Coverings.
Pictures and Rugs[]

To find this function, the player must select the Items list and click the button on the top bar. This will open the Interior Designer itself.
The first selection to make is the item itself. There are five kind of Picture, all used in-game already by existing items. There are also five types of rug, although several of these are not used by regular in-game rugs.
Once a type and sub-type of item have been chosen, clicking on the button will open up the image browser. If desired, clicking will allow for the image to be rotated, and will enable the player to change the area of the image that is used for the item.
The item should be given a name and description, and prices must be set. The monetary cost defaults to $100, although a value can be set from $10 to $1,000. The default Kudosh cost is K50, although this can range from K0 to K1,000.
Optionally, another custom image can be used for the item's icon. This is selected and manipulated in the same way as the main image, although here the option exists to press , and return to the default icon using the main image. Clicking 'Create' will add the item to the player's in-game Item list, where it can be used like any other after paying the chosen Kudosh cost.
It is still possible to change the item. Either clicking on the item in a hospital, or by selecting it in the item list, will reveal the button, which will re-open the Interior Designer screen. Here the item can be edited, and saved by selecting 'Update'. Two additional choices are now also available: 'Delete', which will remove the item entirely, and 'Publish'.
Publishing the item will upload it to the Steam Workshop, where it can be accessed by other players and used in their hospitals. Three possible levels of publishing exist: Public, Friends Only or Hidden.
It is important not to use copyrighted material for items that are to be published. Browsing the Steam Workshop is useful for finding inspiration in decorating hospitals.
Walls and Floors[]
- Main article: Room Customisation
Although the creation (and publshing) process is the same, the Interior Designer is accessed differently. Select any room in the hospital, and press the 'Customise' action button at the bottom of the Inspector to bring up the Room Customisation menu. As above, click the button on the top bar to access the Interior Designer.
Here, no sub-types are used, just one Wall Covering and one Floor Covering, each of which, when in use, will repeat to cover the entire area. Note that walls and floors can only be customised in rooms, not the hospital plot itself - though plots can still be customised with pictures and rugs.
