Inner-City-Simulator-Icon

The Inner-City-Simulator is a Treatment machine, used only in Urban Mythology by a Nurse to cure patients with Metropolism, in both its Reptilian and Mechanical forms. It is first made available for research in Swelbard, which requires the Bigfoot DLC.

Description[]

Appearance[]

The main body of the machine has a light grey circular frame, with round-cornered squares around the side. The rotating platform inside features a cityscape, consisting of six roadways and six city blocks, with various buildings retracted into ground level. On opposing sides of the machine are two large ramps, in the same colour as the frame, with black grips up the centre. On each side of the ramps, three dark grey protrusions are attached to the side of the frame; the pair next to each ramp has two grey round-cornered rectangles on top, and the central on on each side has a rectangular panel instead. The protrusion to the right of the entry ramp also features the light grey control console, with controls consisting of a throttle lever, a green button, a red button and a joystick.

The Inner-City-Simulator II adds four dark grey trapezoidal sections, one to each of the four protrusions closest to the ramps (including the one bearing the control console).

The Inner-City-Simulator III further adds reinforcement to the last two protrusions; a small dark grey trapezoidal section is bracketed on the outer aspect by one large and one small trapezoidal plate in the same colour, with an orange band between the two.

Function[]

The nurse pulls the throttle lever on the controls for the Inner-City-Simulator, causing the cityscape to rotate and the buildings to emerge, beginning the simulation with the large street facing the entry ramp. Tall angled arms with projectors will rise from the two central protrusions on the outside. The patient will proceed into the simulation, and begin their rampage. The Mechanical sufferers will perform various kicks, whereas the Reptilians sufferers will punch, kick, stomp, slash with their tails, perform a body slam, and even fire eye lasers.

All the while, the nurse will be using the joystick to aim the projectors. When they are locked on, the nurse will press the green button, and the patient will be pulled into the air, and surrounded by a green gridded perimeter, struggling against its grip. Exhausted, they will fall to the ground, the sense knocked back into them. The nurse presses the red button, which will return the cityscape to its original position, while the patient trudges down the exit ramp, to transform into their regular appearance at the bottom, their treatment complete.

Maintenance[]

Inner-City-Simulator-Wreckage

The Inner-City-Simulator loses 5-10% of its maintenance gauge with each use. Once the gauge falls below 50%, a Janitor will automatically be called to repair it. A janitor can be summoned manually by selecting the machine and pressing Call-Janitor-Button.

Should the maintenance gauge fall below 15%, the machine will catch fire. A janitor will need to use an Extinguisher to put this out before the gauge reaches zero; if it is allowed to do so, the machine will explode, leaving wreckage which must be sold and replaced with a new machine before the room can resume functioning.

Upgrades[]

Upgrades are performed by a Janitor with the Mechanics Qualification. The machine will not be accessible while this work is being done, although it can be interrupted and resumed without losing progress.
